Job Description – Network Engineer The Network Engineer designs, implements, and supports a secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise network environment. This role emphasizes core Cisco networking technologies and firewall policy expertise to maintain a strong security posture while enabling business growth. Key Responsibilities Design, configure, and support switching, routing, network access control, firewalls, SD-WAN, and monitoring platforms in a hybrid environment Manage Cisco Catalyst Center–based networks, Cisco FMC/FTD firewalls, Cisco ISE, and SD-WAN connectivity Lead firewall policy design, rulebase management, and security optimization Perform network troubleshooting, system upgrades, and implementation of new technologies Maintain network documentation, support capacity planning, and ensure compliance with security standards Collaborate across teams while also working independently on complex technical issues Required Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and Catalyst Center Proven expertise in firewall policy design and best practices, including Cisco FMC/FTD (IPS/AMP, troubleshooting) Solid understanding of Cisco ISE (802.1X, TACACS+, segmentation, posture) Working knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN Proficiency with BGP, OSPF, VPNs, QoS, and Layer 2/Layer 3 architectures Experience supporting and troubleshooting enterprise network environments Familiarity with Palo Alto GlobalProtect and Prisma Access Strong documentation, change management, analytical, and communication skills Nice to Have Cisco Security Cloud experience Nexus Dashboard knowledge ThousandEyes deployment or monitoring experience Cloud networking exposure (AWS or Azure) Basic Python skills Additional Requirements Must be local to Eden Prairie, MN (combination of some onsite work, but mostly remote and reside in the Eden Prairie, MN, 55344 zip codeoffice. U.S. citizenship required, no dual citizenship, background and drug test are required. Hourly pay rate, $50.00 - $55.00 Contract assignment with a conversion arrangement already in place.
