Position Type: Summer School - Certified/Teacher Date Posted: 5/7/2025 Location: All District Date Available: 06/20/2025 Closing Date: Until filled Committee/ Curriculum Committees Lead Teacher GENERAL STATEMENT This is a call for applications to serve as a Lead Teacher-Curriculum Committees for: High School - ELA, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and CTE, Middle School - ELA, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies, Grades 6-12 (MS/HS) - World Language and Multi Language Learner, Grades K-12 - Art, Music and PE/Health. In the additional questions section, please indicate to which content area you are applying. The purpose of the Curriculum Committees is to revise and develop curricula for Stamford Public Schools. This position is for a candidate to serve on the posted Curriculum Committees as well as be responsible as the Lead Teacher for the committee. In addition to the up to 30 hours of time served on the Curriculum Committee, the Lead Teacher will receive an additional up to 40 hours for the following work: Meet with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, Secondary or the Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, Secondary to establish key deliverables for the committee work. Edit and format the new and current curriculum. Supervise the Curriculum Committee through the process of establishing which curriculum is rewritten/revised. Schedule regular check-ins (as determined with the Director of Curriculum, Instruction,and Assessment, Secondary or the Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, Secondary) for the Curriculum Committee over the course of time allocated for writing the curriculum. Submit the final deliverables to the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, Secondary or the Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, Secondary. Present the final deliverables to the content area teachers in August during Professional Development. WHO IS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY? (Dates of meeting TBD once committees are formed; see timeframe below) Demonstrate superior organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, especially writing MEETING DATES: Curriculum Lead teachers should plan to meet in person with their committees between June 17 and June 30, 2025. Final curricula should be submitted by mid-August. Present the final deliverables to the content area teachers in August during Professional Development. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Evidence of a current Connecticut teaching Certificate in the content area for which you are applying, secondary preferred.
